Understanding STA

A Stay That Builds Confidence

Short Term Accommodation provides support away from a participant's usual home. Depending on their NDIS plan, it may include accommodation, personal assistance, meals and agreed activities.

At Rize Support, STA is more than a change of location. It is an opportunity to build independence, enjoy new experiences and spend time with others.

Our dedicated STA house is located on the northern Gold Coast. It provides a comfortable place to relax, share meals and enjoy time with the group.

Participants can attend from the Gold Coast, Brisbane and surrounding areas. Before each stay, we discuss support needs, transport and group compatibility.

A Typical Weekend

Your Weekend at Rize

01

Pickup & Settle In

Where transport has been arranged, we collect participants from agreed locations. Everyone then has time to unpack, settle in and become comfortable.

02

The Adventure

The group may head out for an activity or event. We consider participant interests, support needs and accessibility when planning each outing.

03

Downtime & Skills

Back at the house, participants can relax, socialise and share a meal. Everyday tasks also create natural opportunities to practise independence.

04

Drop-Off

At the end of the stay, participants return home through the agreed transport arrangement. Families can also receive an update about the experience.

Using Your NDIS Plan

Using Your STA Funding

Short Term Accommodation funding may cover:

Funding varies between participants. Please confirm that STA meets your plan goals and available budget before booking.

Your STA Questions Answered

Is Short Term Accommodation the same as respite?

STA can provide a valuable break for families and informal supports. However, NDIS-funded STA must relate to the participant's disability support needs and goals.

Can participants from Brisbane attend?

Yes. Suitable participants from Brisbane can enquire about upcoming stays. Transport, support needs and group compatibility must be discussed before booking.

Can we meet the team before booking?

Yes. A meet and greet gives participants and families time to become familiar with Rize Support before the first stay.

“Thank you so very much for taking such great care of my child and for the love and support you always show. We are always very grateful to both Chelsea and Brooke.”
